This PEI Recording Studio has the Steinway “B” piano at its core.
The main recording platform is ProTools HD complimented by a fully treated acoustic space, premium preamplifiers by Neve, Avalon and Phoenix Audio, and a stellar microphone locker featuring the Telefunken ELA 251M, the Neumann U87ai, and various other premium Schoeps, Neumann, AKG, and Sennheiser microphones.

Your project will be captured in the finest way using the ProTools HD recording platform interfaced with the AVID 16 x 16 I/O, premium preamplifiers by Neve, Avalon and Phoenix Audio, and a selection of superb microphones including the spectacular Telefunken ELA M 251

Record
The Studio is well equipped to handle most any recording project.
With the Steinway “B” Grand Piano we offer something truly unique. The Steinway has a warm, round sound and with the fully treated and tested acoustic space, it sounds amazing.
Drums, Guitar over-dubs, horn over-dubs and final vocals all sound great and very cohesive in the live room. Guitar or Bass amplifier isolation or scratch vocal isolation is also available.
The Mac based system running Pro Tools HD is fed by top of the line preamplifiers and microphones.
The Hear Back monitoring system has individual mixes for each player and is as clean as it gets.
In addition to the Steinway “B” Grand Piano, other keyboards include the powerful Roland Jupiter-80, the Hammond XK-3C Tonewheel organ, and the Hammond Digital B3 organ with two Motion Sound external rotary speakers.
Mix
The Mac based recording platform is loaded with some of the finest new plugins from Slate Digital, the Sonnox Oxford Elite package, Melodyne, Izotope RX5, Izotope Ozone 7, and the new plate reverbs from Waves.
The Studio also has the complete Vienna Symphonic Library Cube for adding beautiful orchestral colour to any project. For adding synth textures there is Omnisphere 2, the Trillian bass plugin, and Ministry of Rock 2.
Master
We can Master any project you’ve been working on.
Using Izotope Ozone 7, Focal Monitors, and a variety of other plugins, your tracks can be brought to the final stage before duplication.
The Steinway "B" Grand Piano
This PEI Recording Studio features the legendary Steinway “B” Grand Piano! Placed in an ample live room that’s been completely acoustically treated, the instrument is very warm and clear.
With top quality microphones in the Studio, solo piano recordings sound amazing.
Any number of recording combinations are possible : Solo piano, piano-bass-drums, piano-voice live, piano-horn live, or piano trio with acoustic guitar.
The Steinway is expertly maintained and has the signature beautiful warm Steinway tone. The live room has undergone a complete acoustic treatment on all walls and the ceiling. Natural oak hardwood floors provide the perfect sound reflection to give a very warm live sound.
The Hammond B3 Digital Organ with Rotary Speaker
Yes, this is the real deal. We don’t use organ plugins with rotary speaker simulators.
This speaker really spins!
Telefunken ELA M251
The Telefunken ELA M 251 has the rare and much sought after vintage German tube. The warmth and sonic presence of this microphone needs to be heard to be believed.
Telefunken microphones have been used on some of the finest recordings of our time, from Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney, to The Beatles. It is frequently referred to as “the vocal microphone”, however it sounds amazing on anything.
Other Premium Microphones
The Neumann U-87ai is a legendary studio staple that sounds great on everything. The Neumann TLM 103 gives a very similar detailed presence as the U-87ai, and the stereo matched pair of Neumann KM-184’s are ideal for piano, acoustic guitar, or drum overheads.
The Schoeps Colette stereo matched pair with switchable MK 5 capsules are a step beyond anything else.
Two vintage 1970’s Sennheiser MD 421’s, the AKG 112D, and the usual Shure SM57’s all sound great on the drum kit. Rounding out the microphone locker are two AKG 414’s and the AKG C451B.
Premium Pre Amplifiers
With high end preamplifiers by Avalon, Neve and Phoenix Audio feeding into the AVID 16 x 16 I/O, your recordings will have a very clear, open sound.
The Avalon 2022’s are extremely transparent with terrific headroom, while the Phoenix Audio preamps have a more coloured Neve-like character.
The latest addition to the studio is 4 channels of the legendary Neve sound with the Neve 1073 DPA’s.
The monitoring system is the Hear Technologies “Hear Back” system running on Cat 5 cable. Everyone has control of their own mix while recording.
The Dangerous Monitor ST feeds Focal Solo B’s for mixing and mastering.
